Another Jack Bogle tribute.

Not many investors in Australia would know of a bloke named Jack Bogle but he passed away last week.

Even though he was born in the U.S.A. his influence was felt world-wide.

Jack was the founder of a company in the 1970's which was an investment company called Vanguard that today manages $5.1 TRILLION in assets under management. Now clipping the ticket on that much worth, you'd have thought Jack was rolling in it.

Apparently he was well-off but not as well off as many other fund managers who charge significantly higher fees than Vanguard set out to do. You see, Jack established Vanguard with a view to covering the companies costs by having a limited marketing budget and no long schmoozy lunches with Financial Planners because he was holding his company to a higher standard. Get this. Jack wanted the investors to access low - cost market returns and for them to get what was rightfully theirs. There was no 1% management fee or additional performance fees. Just a fraction of 1% and as these funds got bigger, Vanguard have even reduced the fees.

Check this video that highlights Jack Bogle's long held investment beliefs.

The legacy Mr. Bogle has left is significant and many of our clients and others who believe in an index approach thank him for his foresight and direction. The investment world thanks you and we look forward to supporting the vision you had.
