So nobody wants Insurance.

So before Christmas, our office had discussions with a long-standing client who has held an income protection policy for a number of years. Like over 10 years. He explained that he was contemplating some surgery and might need some time off work.

We took this opportunity to discuss this situation with Asteron, the clients insurer. We prepared claim forms and obtained supporting financial details and after the surgery and a rehab period we were able to make a successful partial claim on behalf of our client.

The initial financial details did not justify the monthly benefit but after discussion with the claims manager and the clients Accountant, we were able to confirm the pre-disability income from income splitting and trust distribution details.

While this may seem complicated, this is the process that is undertaken on a daily basis from many trusted professionals in our industry. While the Hayne Royal Commission has tarred many with the incompetence brush, I want to highlight some of the actions that assist and make a difference to those clients who call upon us when we are needed.

Nobody wants to pay for insurances, but when you need to claim, it feels awesome to help out.

If you know somebody who might enjoy this story, feel free to forward it on.
